I was born and raised in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, where most of my family still lives. I graduated from Eden Prairie High School with the class of 1987. I then went on to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I earned a B.S. in Economics.
After college, I spent a year working and skiing in Park City, Utah. A year of trying to live in a ski town earning minimum wage was enough to convince me to enter the mainstream and try this thing they call a “career.” I spent about 10 years living in Philadelphia and Chicago, pursuing a couple of different sales jobs. After 15 or so years of living outside of Minnesota, I was ready to move home.
I entered into real estate shortly after returning to Minnesota. It felt like my destiny. My father has been a commercial/industrial Realtor® for most of my life, and my oldest sister, Kathy, had become a residential Realtor® a few years earlier. Kricket and I also have an aunt and uncle who are Realtors®. After speaking with the Realtors® in the family, and exploring this career path more thoroughly, I realized that this would be a great fit for me. Shortly after getting my real estate license, I convinced Kricket to follow suit and become my partner in the business. It has been a rewarding challenge—tough at times, but well worth the effort.
When I am not working at the business, I am usually enjoying one of my outdoor interests. I love everything from biking, hiking and rollerblading, to downhill skiing and kayaking. I fell in love with the Boundary Waters again recently, and plan to continue doing more backpacking, camping and canoeing. To satisfy my adventurous side, I have been skydiving and white-water rafting, and I am planning to take a glider ride this summer. My girlfriend and I are busy coming up with, and checking new adventures and destinations off our “bucket lists”! I am also a very avid reader, and I love music—particularly live music. I am also trying to learn to be a better cook. So far, I mainly just love to eat!
